2:45 pm - Mitch
with the World's Largest Loon in Newboro (Day
3)
|
It was another sweltering
night in the tents last night, despite the strong
breeze blowing through Narrows. Just about everyone
in the camp is craving a real shower -- it's been
4 days now without! But tonight we're staying
at Safari Marina and we're promised that we'll
be able to have one there!
Yesterday, the kayakers pulled
into Narrows around 4 pm. This was great since
it gave everybody a chance to really wind down
and relax for the night.
In case you don't know, there's
a road crew of six vehicles and 7-12 people that
are following the kayakers at any given time.
They feed the kayakers and help set up camp each
night. They do an amazing job and we couldn't
do the trip without them!
The road crew always likes
to do a bit of site seeing if there's time and
going through Newboro, we couldn't pass up the
chance of seeing the World's Largest Loon.
