DAY 3 (page 2 of 2): Monday, August 14, 2006

< back | day 4>

Welcome back to our sixth consecutive year of Kayaking for Cancer!

Again today, the wind started to pick up after lunch. But today it was at our backs. We made it across Clear, Newboro and Upper Rideau Lakes arriving at Narrows Lock in record time. Narrows Lock is the highest point on the Rideau system, so it's all downhill from here.

The group heads for Narrows Lock.
Arriving so early, we had lots of time to relax before dinner which was provided by our host Lorraine Lachance.

Setting up camp at Narrows Lock.

Donna Barnes & friends

Time for some water skiing before supper.

Just a note to explain where the money goes.

All of the participants in this event pay a fee to cover our own expenses along the way, such as the gas for the support boat shown here. All of the money that you donate goes directly to The Canadian Cancer Society. Every dime! If you want to know what they do with the money, just visit their web site, and while you are there please donate.

"I wish I could kayak this fast".

Thanks for supper Mamalu!
