Conor paddles away from Pirate Cove Marina

<back next >

Welcome back to our thirteenth consecutive year of Kayaking for Cancer!

One year ago during K4C 2012, we paused on the last day behind my neighbour Marc’s house along the canal in Ottawa.to quietly wish him recovery from his cancer. Sadly Marc passed away less than a month later.

For my brother Ron, Marc and Vic, Sylvia’s father, Heather and Bill’s brother-in-law, you have been remembered this week for bravely fighting cancer. For dear Jocelyn, and for Leah, Denyse, Ann and Marguerite, you have shown and are now showing that your various cancers can be battled. What an honour to paddle with all of you in mind!

And to my K4C friends, some of you survivors yourselves, thank you for the privilege of being part of this journey again, and for the shared reminiscences, quite moments, and yes, laughter too. What an amazing group you all are!
