Welcome back to our fourteenth
consecutive year of Kayaking for Cancer!
K4C kayakers- Go team Go!
What a wonderful group of people! We have kayakers, boat crew, road crew, kitchen crew and everyone works as hard as the other person. We are all in this together-everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another. This is my second year with this amazing group and I'm joined with my daughter, Jenna. How nice is this to have eight days with each other laughing, paddling, reflecting, paddling, remember when, paddling, crying, paddling and paddling...
This is my first year kayaking for cancer and it has already kicked off to a great start! I've been introduced to so many amazing people and have heard their touching stories. The deep commitment they have to this group is incredible and indescribable. I feel like I started this journey in Ottawa last year as I watched my mom, the other kayakers and the crew cross the finish line. I knew I wanted to be a part of it the next year, so I convinced myself I could make the eight days they trek and here I am! We set out together as mother and daughter and we joined an even bigger K4C family. My gratitude for this group grows everyday, paddling forward and together.
For my grandpa 'Gumpy' Carson who lost the battle, my grandma Ruth Carson who beat it and my sister in law Jennifer Gregoire currently fighting.
To all our K4C family now and future- May the wind always be on your back when you travel the Rideau.
Donna and Jenna Paige
