It's now the fourth day of our Kayaking for Cancer trek which means we're almost half way to our destination -- Ottawa! Up until this point the kayakers have been "rising" with the water in the locks, but before long the locks will begin to lower them instead. It's interesting how the canal climbs for half its distance, and then descends for the rest.

The kayakers arrived at the Narrows around 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon. They made really great time on the water which means they could kick back and have a long, relaxing evening. Lucky for us a couple of guys brought guitars and many of them, including Graham, Paul and Pierre-Paul, played a few tunes for the group.

Mary Kay made delicious chicken lasagna for dinner which everybody loved. Then everybody settled in for a few hours of sittin' around the lantern (no fire tonight) before heading to bed.
