DAY
8 (page 1 of 5): Saturday,
August 17, 2002

10:57 am - Exiting
Black Rapids Locks -- 38 locks down, 4 more to
go!
|
This is it! Day 8, our final
day of Kayaking for Cancer 2002, and we couldn't
have asked for better weather. It's a balmy 27
degrees out today -- perfect weather to be on
the water!
The kayakers still have a
bit of distance to travel today (27 km), plus
they have to pass through three sets of locks
before they can make their way to the finish line.
(Thanks to the Parks Canada lockmasters and attendants
who've been great to us again this year!)
Last night we had a fun time
hanging out together before hitting the sleeping
bags. There was a sense of anticipation (and maybe
a bit of relief) knowing that we've only got one
day left to go. Kurt read the e-mails that we've
received all week from our supporters and it felt
good knowing so many people are rooting for us.
